A long custody battle between her mother, Rebecca Soteros, and Cheryl ensued in 2014.
Eventually, Cheryl dropped her case when Soteros agreed to undertake a rehabilitation program for her reported alcoholism.
On September 12, 2021, which would've been Paul's 48th birthday, Meadow posted a throwback Instagram photo of herself and her father.
She captioned it: "Happy birthday daddy, I love you."
Paul's mother spoke out about loss of her son in 2018
I Am Paul Walker, a devastating 2018 documentary, featured his mother Cheryl talking about the death of her son.
In a People exclusive interview, Cheryl disclosed that on the day of his passing, Paul had brought his daughter Meadow to visit, and the three of them were talking about plans to get a Christmas tree that night.
She explained: "We were having this good conversation, and he'd forgotten about an event he had... He got a text and said, 'Oh my gosh, I'm supposed to be somewhere!'"
Paul Walker's cause of death explained
Paul passed away at the age of 40.
He was traveling in a Porsche that quickly collided with a concrete lamp post and a tree before taking fire, killing both him and the driver, his friend Roger Rodas.
The actor's family and fellow cast members were devastated to learn of his death from the combined effects of stress and burns.
A post-mortem examination showed that he had not consumed any alcohol or narcotics prior to his death.
He had broken bones throughout his body, including his jaw, arm, ribs and pelvis.

According to the accident investigation, the car was doing 94 mph in a 45 mph zone.
Claims that Porsche was to blame for the 2016 fatalities were rejected by a judge.
The judge declared that a crash cage would not have averted the collision that resulted in Rodas' tragic injuries.
"Undisputed evidence" indicated Rodas perished from a fire started by racing gasoline, according to Judge Gutierrez.

On November 30, 2013, Paul Walker lost his life in a vehicle accident.
He was returning from an event for Walker's organization, Reach Out Worldwide, which supports Typhoon Haiyan victims, along with his 38-year-old friend Roger Rodas.
Rodas was driving a Porsche Carrera GT when he violently collided with a tree and a concrete lamp post. The automobile then caught fire, killing both of them.
